My 2cents.. Make a new subforum in this forum, Banned From Chatbox..
Maybe disable all normal members to reply to the thread (just thread creation allowed) and no more spam, staff can just leave a message if need be.

Staff have a new record system in place so any staff member can tell you why you were banned as apposed to before when only the mod who banned you knew the reason.

The recent banned threads are a result or a coding bug with the shoutbox which the admins are aware of and working on and will hopefully soon have it resolved.
 
There should be a thread in general discussions, titled "Banned from the shoutbox?" and within that thread there are a list of banned users along with reasons and expiration dates.
 
its just so annoying, they'll still make a thread hawk.

unless they see something on the homepage, like

no need @ hawk we have one in staff and i for one send a pm to the user saying your banned for x amount of time for x reason.

There is a need, it's better to move the thread where every member can see it. Staff can forget to send PMs too.
 
having the thread will cause more drama then needed hawk we are trying to keep it to a minimum however yes you are correct staff can forget but any bans longer then a day still have to be logged in the thread example:

and so with that thread in staff theres no need the user knows why they got banned staff know issue sorted :|
 
How on earth will it cause more drama? When the thread will be locked and you edit it everytime you or anyone else bans a user. Simple as.
