    If you need at least 1TB of storage, I would suggest a dedicated server. The storage will be cheaper than a VPS, usually.

    If you suspect the VPS was insecure, try installing CSF (ConfigServer Firewall), mod_security, and CS Exploit Scanner. They work very well to prevent a majority of intrusions and attacks.

    Have you talked to the hosts about it? Maybe one server is connected at 100Mbps, and is congested so your RDP is getting choked...
