I've had some for my business, at some point it helps me generate traffic for my blog site.
I doubt you can build 200 quality backlinks in just a day. However having 1 or 2 quality backlinks in a week is a good signal for google than having a huge amount of unrelevant backlinks in just a day. Link now is more on value and relevancy.
Make sure to update daily. Use catchy images or videos on your posts and make sure it attracts engagement.
Timing is also important, make sure to post on people's free time; usually in the morning and late afternoon.
If you have a page, facebook will automatically endorse you boosting your page or your posts.
You have options on how much to spend on an ad, of course it will also reflect on how much likes you'll get (most likely).

Both are social media but both are different from what they can offer.
If it is for business purpose then having both can be helpful for marketing/promotion.

If you aim for a backlink then don't pursue blog commenting you are most likely to just mark as a spam on a blog.
Act profesionally, comment only if you'll add value to the blog, with that you will be able to increase your online reputation.
I've been using hootsuite before but now I do it manually.
I mean I still do scheduled post but on facebook itself and tweetdeck.
