CloudFlare and DDoS
Just a quick note that we're not a full DDoS solution. While we can most certainly help with some attacks, we will have to go direct to you if the attack is too big (massive attacks start impacting other sites on the service).
Just a quick note because someone mentioned CloudFlare.
Since we act as a reverse proxy for sites, our IPs would show in your logs without some quick modification. We recommend installing mod_cloudflare, or SMF users can look at this SMF mod.
Also: Some other quick tips for CloudFlare and forums.
Analytics
"I am getting false traffic on my site stats (500 visits a day) after installing Cloudflare.. but when I check on my Analytics, it's having the normal traffic of 3k-6k.."
I don't know what your domain is. The most common reason for this is you need to add the www cname in your...
Hi kolaps,
More than happy to answer any questions about CloudFlare. One quick thing to note: joining CloudFlare doesn't require changing links at all because we detect the file extension automatically for caching (CloudFlare works through DNS).
Hi extreme,
How we classify threats comes from a variety of CloudFlare data sources.
A couple of quick things:
1. If you feel too many visitors are getting challenged because of false/positives, you can change your security level (settings->CloudFlare settings->Basic Security Level->Change to...
CloudFlare datacenters
I just wanted to highlight for CloudFlare usersthat CloudFlare has added new datacenters recently, including France and Dallas, which now brings us up to 10 CloudFlare datacenters (soon 14). We will soon have additional datacenters online for Asia and Europe that will...
Sorry for the delay...
I'm currently on vacation overseas. But looking at the domain it looks like you have extra NS entries that need to be removed (only the two CloudFlare nameservers should be there).
curashare.net. 172758 IN NS ns259.dnsever.com.

Hi JMZ,
"The fact that you're here just turned me away from your service, good job."
Not sure why that would be the case. Care to clarify? Generally speaking, most forums I've visited in the past *like* having someone from the company available to answer questions about the service.
PayPal
Hi Gavo,
PayPal is definitely in the works. Adding the new datacenters is the priority right now, but PayPal should likely be available in the next 30-60 days or so.
CloudFlare and forums
Funny that you posted that just as I was mentioning mod_cloudflare:) You need to install the mod_cloudflare option to get original visitor IP. There are also other solutions for other forum packages on this page.
Thanks!
Hi Sponge Bob,
Super. Thanks for using us.
A couple of things I wanted to highlight for people that are areas of potential concern:
1. You would want to install mod_cloudflare if you need original visitor IP at the server level.
2. If you make changes to static content on your site...
Google
CloudFlare's IPs are actually whitelisted by Google. If you change to CloudFlare, our IPs would show in a NS lookup.
Scenarios:
1. CloudFlare.com site proper is down = customer sites still up (sit on separate DNS).
2. We have issues in one datacenter= site still available through other...
Hi Curahack,
Here's what we do with copyright complaints:
1. Send the party making the complaint the IP address of your server.
2. Forward the complaint to the site owner so they can review the complaint and take appropriate action.
We don't take sites down because of a complaint. We're not a...
CloudFlare datacenters
Aggressive caching *shouldn't* interfere with forms. If the forms are .php or .html, for example, we wouldn't touch them (CloudFlare caches these extension types).
We will have datacenters in the following EU locations soon:
Paris, London, Amsterdam (already active...
