Well no, it won't work with images that are not store on your site .. But in the case where he stole your smilies, instead of a small grinning face, you could put a big finger there :p

Well you could do what projectw.org do .. Prevent hotlinking and redirecting all images to a BIG "Stolen from My Site" image :pOr you can put "Download Provided by Your Site" before the download links ... so that when they leech, they will still leech your site name, assuming it's a bot :p
