Here's a plugin that lets you display random text in the sidebar of your site:

You can put anything you want in it....latest news, announcements, etc.
If I were having a consistent problem with plugins, I'd make a subdomain, backup and install the site on the sub, and troubleshoot from there. Sounds like it could be an issue with your wp installation. A fresh install might lend a clue.
Try deactivating the plugin then try upgrading. Don't know why, but this has worked for me when upgrading various plugins. I always figure it's worth a shot.

I could be wrong but I believe CPU is more important. You'll still need a good amount of memory to store the images. If you optimize images before uploading that would help.
You might also need to concern yourself with bandwidth. If you're using something like a lightbox-type display (for...
Take the above advice and please make sure your new WP installation is secure.

No matter how big or small your site, you can always be a target of hackers. Even my dog's blog gets hack attempts.
First take care of security. Some basic security plugins:

For visitor stats:

And for the love of onions make sure your password is...
I started by playing around with different frameworks on a test domain.
Here's a link to some info on WP frameworks:

Knowing the theme you're using would help a lot but the code at the top of your page is interpreted as malicious so I can't take a look. If I were you I'd worry about browsers blocking access to your site first.
Any site can be optimized for search engines and submission doesn't have to cost a thing.
Make sure your title and description tags are full of keywords. Put keywords in image alt tags.
Search engines love text. If your site has lots of good text, it's more likely to get picked up on by search...
Looks very good to me!
Only one thing....the recent comments title in the left sidebar would look better if it were on one line. It's dropping below the edge of the box. Other than that it looks fantastic.
(I do adult blog designs as well. Among other things.)
No offense but why would you be on a server that PHP doesn't work on? That's such a basic function. I would move to another host if possible. It will make life easier for you in the long run.
Here's another popular one. Remove unnecessary links from header by sticking this in functions.php:
/* remove clutter from head */
remove_action('wp_head', 'rsd_link');
remove_action('wp_head', 'wp_generator');
remove_action('wp_head', 'feed_links', 2);
remove_action('wp_head'...
No need for a plugin. You can register another sidebar in your theme's functions.php file. Try this...
Add this chunk of code:
/* register sidebar widget area */
function yourtheme_widgets_init() {
register_sidebar( array(
'name' => __( 'Secondary Widget Area', 'yourtheme' ),
'id'...
Anyone remember that from Seinfeld? Hellooooooooooooooo!
I just joined this forum today and have already found lots of useful resources. Glad to be here!
