    Just went through one of my friends site... http://www.mp3lookout.com Mp3 Search Engine.. Direct Download as they say it. He hasn't added popups yet, so its speed it quite much at the moment, i guess you guys will like it. More over, you can listen to the song with inbuilt player of website.

    I can write a sh script if you want, to automatically backup the database, Compress it than remote upload it to any ftp of your choice.. @ $5. Ofcourse, you shall have ssh access to the server for that... :)
