Very good to have you back Daring. As always I'll be here til the shit hits the fan, helping out where I can when I can. I won't be AS available as I was last time due to my own projects, but I'll be around and about helping out. And as always, I still offer my automated backup scripts to your...
In the BOOKS, Harry didn't destroy ANY of them. In the movies Harry destroyed ONE of them. As to the Elder Wand it's all by 'defeating' the owner.
Grindelwald defeated whoever. Dumbledore defeated Grindewald. Draco defeated Dumbledore by disarming him. Harry defeated Draco by disarming him...
Alright everyone, I want this known.
We (DaringHost) aren't going ANYWHERE. We now have a backup system that runs every night so there won't be any data loss as long as those drives don't get corrupted. I'll also work on getting the backups that are made emailed out to a server that is no way...
funxlab,
You are clearly missing the point of everything I've said. YES a customer should log in to the client area when there's a problem. It's called opening a support ticket. While you go through the Client Area's Ticket menu, you will see the BACKUP category.
As to talking on Daring's...
Support threads are unneeded. If the host runs away, open a dispute in paypal.
If you have a problem with the host, you open a ticket. It's how it's always been done.
New customers get feed back via the sell thread, that's how I found the hosts I use, because I read 'Yay best host, fast...
I am in no way the host. I do not control what Daring does or what he sends out.
If you notice though, when you go to submit a ticket, there's BEEN an option for backups. It's been there for weeks. Common sense would tell you if you want to inquire about backups to do so there. Wouldn't it? Or...
I assured that redundant backups would be taken IF you ELECTED To take them. I've said at least on THREE posts to open a TICKET to have it done. I have only had a single user request such. And so, what can I do if you don't ask for it?
As to Daring and his external. Through server moves, client...
I've been with DaringHost for quite some time now and they've been nothing but flawless. Yes there's been some issues here and there, but I can assure you it's been ironed out and you can't ask for a better host than Daring.
:D
I'm well aware of what I'm talking about. I've used the IP/username maaany many times while waiting on DNS to set up so when the DNS flushes, my sites are up and working.
Currently I'm sitting on my site via IP and it has YET to 'redirect' me to my actual domain name.
Running phpbb, just...
