Regarding Katz, what is the best way to go about a forum name change? Also will all links still link into the new domain? For example google changes name to yahoo and you go to Google.com/analytics will this simply forward to yahoo.com/analytics?

Meh not interested then. Some recession business advice, make sure your product works when you sell it, if a seller asks for a bin name one even if its higher then you expect to sell it for.
