Hello everyone,

Though this might sound like a radical change, which may not exactly be.
We are all involved with technology and things related to it in one way or another. And more often than not, we speak about things which are not really connected to what webmasters often discuss (I mean on this website). So what I suggest is move on from the niche of webmaster and get into general technology or something else?
Things like mobile, reviews etc..you get the picture, right?

WJ is too random. It's not exactly a webmaster forum but then it's even more difficult to see it associated with a term as general as "technology forum". Going by the forum sections, webmastering seems to be the recurrent theme. It will be hard to see it as anything other than that.

I think we could indeed have new sections more befitting general technology, but the activity in these sections may not be as much as to justify an independent existence. And even if they do come into existence they wouldn't change it to a different niche. It will still be a webmaster forum. In my opinion anyway.
 
warez is in the root of wj & it will always involve around it whether in shape of filehosts or RDPs etc.. they can add new section like General technology Reviews etc but like Amz said there wont be enough active threads.
 
WJunction is a webmaster forum, it was made for that purpose and remains for that purpose. I see no reason in shifting from one niche to another, both are equally likely to work well for a forum, it would be a change but not an improvement.
 
Ash - bad recommendation, here's why.

All of the visitors and members on this board are Webmasters or individuals looking to make a quick buck. If we were to do as you suggested and do a complete 180, we would essentially be killing off 99.9% of our member base.

With that being said, it's good to know that you are over there thinking and pondering ways to make WJ a better place. Keep it up!
 
If you want to talk about tech stuff, just make a few posts in general discussion... If there's a big demand for tech info and tech talk then maybe a sub-forum for the category will be made. Nothing's going to change from a suggestion but no prior interest.
