with a vps you have full control over it (root access) but you will also need an extra license fee if you want cpanel. ($15/month extra) but you can install everything on a vps.

with a semi-dedicated plan, you will get the same power as a vps (with www.mafiahost.eu), you dont have to install anything, cpanel is also included.
no worries of wrong config like vps.

not at all for shared host, they have big down time, I'm thinking about vps for my site.

What are you looking for? VPS? Dedi? Shared?

For VPS I would personally recommend OpenVServers. Support is A+++++++ and price is right for the quality.

As for dedi, it depends on your needs but if it's for remote uploading and price is not an issue, Netdirekt FTW. You could also get an OVH dedi from greatseeder, I recommend him too! (y)
