The Ohio Prison that was ousted for playing pirated movies to inmates has since launched an internal investigation. The prison claims that they are launching a probe into whether or not pirated movies were being shown in the facility. Additionally as a result of the investigation the prison has stopped showing movies to inmates entirely. They have prohibited movies from being shown on the prison wide institution movie channel and also at the recreation department. We have confirmed this with several inmates who are currently incarcerated within L.O.R.C.I.

According to Humphrey, the copyright infringement was taking place while he was at the Lorain Correctional Facility in the intake block (4C). The intake is where the majority of the prisons inmates are processed before being placed into another more permanent housing facility.

Humphrey explained the situation in a more in-depth manner regarding how the copyright infringement took place and where. “The C.O.’s were bringing them in on their own behalf and playing them on the institution DVD player that is originally supposed to be used to show introduction DVD’s upon arrival at the institution.” Humphrey said.

He brought this type of activity to the attention of the Warden (Kimberly Clipper) and the Deputy Warden of the institution. His notices were ignored for months until he finally got a response from the Deputy Warden, who advised him in so many words to contact anyone else other than him. “Obviously he didn’t feel that the situation was that serious” Humphrey says. Humphrey then kited the Warden of the prison a 3rd and final time. Warden Clipper finally responded on 04/09/2014 stating “It appears this activity is still taking place. This matter will continue to be addressed until rectified.”
