Hello,

These are the results of a full Malwarebytes scan :

Memory Modules Infected:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\antiwpa.dll (Trojan.I.Stole.Windows) -> No action taken.

Registry Keys Infected:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify\antiwpa (Trojan.I.Stole.Windows) -> No action taken.

Files Infected:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\antiwpa.dll (Trojan.I.Stole.Windows) -> No action taken.

Well, we all know what this is , should i remove it?
By the way i am facing a sudden shutdowns last period , i think it is because of this infection .
I used once Combofixand i had to reactivate my windows after logging in my user account,but i couldn't, i had to go to Safe Mode and rewrite the wga files .
Please guys help me what should i do ?

Thanks a lot for your time!

The problem that the activation shows up immediately after logging into my account, and all i got to do is replace files using Safe Mod , is doing this the same as installing tha activation?

Hi, I see you are using a cracked version of windows xp hence the antiwpa.dll. If you remove this dll file using MBAM you will have to reactivate windows xp because that dll file is the crack that is used to pass windows genuine validation and its a real bitch I know from experience. I finally gave up and had to call Microsoft for an activation code, and I used a fake key :P I digress.

If you are infected by a virus I can help you remove it. I also do NOT recommend using combofix if you don't know how to use it, only people who are trained to use combofix(like me :P ) are suppose to use it. If you use it without any help you can render your system useless.

Please do the following:

Download HijackThis
  • Double Click on the saved file
  • When it runs, make sure you save it to C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis
    or
  • If you would like to save it in another place change the directory
  • When it has finished installing, hijackthis will automatically launch, then click on I accept
  • Click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile" button
  • When finished scanning it will produce a log, copy/paste the components of the log in your next post
**Do not use hijackthis' "Analyze This" button as it has been known to give out false positives

Probably isn't a virus.

Ever thought that the AV creators just don't want people to pirate windows?
Trojan.I.Stole.Windows is such a non-virus name, it's just to make you deactivate.

Note : I started getting the WGA start , i reinstalled Etho "activator" from the latest releases ... and i still get the notification from Malware bytes.

My best advice :

c:/format c: /q/s

Then install windows again...

I had the same problem, and the only way of cleaning the pc is deleting and installing windows again... (perhaps theres another way of doing it, but i couldnt find it )

Your log looks clean, you are not infected by anything

the virus Trojab.I.Stole.windows isn't a virus but a false positive which makes you want to remove that file but once you do you will have to register windows again because that dll file is the crack. Please do the following to activate windows and remove WGA:

1) Delete any references found of
Code:
wgatray.exe

2) One more thing, start a new FIND as shown above and, search for
Code:
LegitCheckControl.dll
, again delete any references found.[/b]
