    Have a look here: http://backlinko.com/skyscraper-technique. This method requires a lot of work but can give you the most stable results because of very string and natural links. I really like it and starting to test it on my own websites :)

    Why should I submit to the other search engines?

    I like to differentiate the sources of my traffic. Adding site to few search engines is one of the easiest methods to do it. That's why I think it's a good idea to be familiar with Yahoo, Bing and maybe few other search engines.

    Indexing a site by sending URL via Gmail?

    Is it posiible to index a website by sending its URL via Gmail? I once did that with my test website which had no links, no Analytics, no Webmaster Tools and one day I realised it's in the index of Google. Is it normal?

    How long does it take to get indexed?

    Indexing may take some tine, build some good quality dofollow links from other websites - it will speed it up. Add a website to Google Webmaster Tools and Bing/Yahoo websmaster tools.
