Host working and paying = GOOD HOST.
Not working and not paying host = BAD HOST.

Upload (Remote,Flash, Web) is not down. The bandwidth is just being choked up by downloaders.

We have 1Gbps uplinks on all our fileservers but due to the massive volume of downloads starting every minute it is affecting uploads. I just tested an upload to the server and it uploads ok (100MB filesize).

This is the reason why we lowered the free user download limit, to even out the bandwidth. Some users are able to remote upload at huge speeds (40MB/s +) and hence this lessens the available bandwidth even more.

We now have support for Xoom Uploader, it is a very reliable and useful tool and you guys may find it easier to use the tool instead of through the browser for uploading multiple large files.

I assume you meant z-o-o-m uploader, but there's nothing on it.... no update with filedefend.

And what's the deal with decreasing - again - the limits for free users? Didn't I explain yesterday the implications of that on forums?

Filedefend, you make 500mb for non-register users because remote upload works slow but remote upload still very slow. Better make 1GB and try something else.

they don't seem too willing to try something else.... they've decreased the limits for free users (again) and their upload speeds are still beyond terrible....

Soon, filedefend will be banned on all major forums....


I think it's up to us to try something else..... perhaps another host.:facepalm:
