You have no idea how light Apache is if you tweak it. Beats anything else, no match! By default Apache outputs OS info, version info, admin email, etc - you can switch off all these. Reduce reserve threads and processes (but makes it unreliable if any other thread/server defuncts).
We use IIS only due to the fact its the best web server for Windows.
Even though LiteSpeed is a premium software, regardless of price, it still does have a little edge over lighttpd in performance and you know it. :delighted:
Although I do support free software, so I would still go with Lighttpd when push comes to shove.
There is no excuse for anyone not trying it.
Be sure to give feedback on what Nginx is like.
I personally haven't tried it, but I know some premium hosting companies (MediaLayer, for example) use it.
