there are several different ad extensions, each has its own advantages but the issue with ad extensions is that 1. it rises your ad rank and 2. it "bulks up" your ad so it will be more visible.
It depends on what exactly you are advertising but there are several ad extensions that are good for all ads. I recommend to use as much as you can, your ad will look much better.
