Lots of people are adding File Host buttons to their sites to make more money from referals.

eg BlaZe's site http://rapidscene.ws/ on the left under the Katz Button.

To help your SEO and keep Google on your site and index more pages you should add rel="nofollow" to these links. You want people to click on them but you don't want Google or other search engines to follow them leaving your site.

This is how to add the code to stop Google Crawling the links and leaving your site.

You should have a link something like this
<a href="http://hotfile.com/register.html?reff=1234567" target="_blank"><img src="/hotfile-image.jpg" alt="Hotfile Logo" /></a>

We want to change it to
<a href="http://hotfile.com/register.html?reff=1234567" target="_blank" rel="nofollow"><img src="/hotfile-image.jpg" alt="Hotfile Logo" /></a>

Well, I'm really grateful to Mr Happy for this tip :)
I was unaware of this, I thought, it might not affect much, but now I know that it can affect the SEO of a site.

Thanks Mr Happy ! <3

@Sponge, when googlebot crawls your page, it will not goto the link.

So, eventually, it'll just assume that there is no outbound link from your site if you add rel="nofollow" tag. So your SEO will not be affected ;)

^ Nice timing xD lol :p

@Mr Happy i didnt get your point? So is it that when google is on the site it will skip that button or something?

Exactly. When Google arrives at your site is starts following the links to other pages. If you have links to other sites it can leave your site and reduces the amount of your own pages that are indexed. Having rel="nofollow" is an instruction to Google to not follow this link and ignore it which will help it concentrate on your own links to other pages in your site.

now i know why katz ban lots of site reading this issue

thanks Mr Happy

Ya that's a good point. Katz, MechoDDL and I believe NexusDDL automatically check the backlink that you add on your site. We know that it's not good for the DDL site if you add nofollow so we ban you until the nofollow is removed if it's found.

Mr Happy what if nofollow is added to DDL linkbacks does the robots of DDL's check nofollow attribute

Good Question. MechoDDL does check every single topic for a linkback and nofollow and if you have a nofollow or redirect you will be banned until you remove it. It's both script and human confirmation so it doesn't make mistakes.

Katz do ban people but their bot doesn't seam to check for it or maybe misses it sometimes. Either that or they process them together every few days or something but ya they will ban you too. It's hard to tell exactly but yes they do ban you.

From what I know other DDL sites with the exception of Twilight.ws and maybe NexusDDL don't automatically check for a nofollow link. Some will ban you if they find a nofollow link but as they don't check it's hard for them to catch you.

If you do add nofollow to the rest of the DDL sites you can always just remove it and get unbanned.

Thanks everyone else for your replies :)
