Hello all ,
Thanks for entering my topic .

Some one offered 14,000 USD for a domain i own . But he only trusts a human manual appraisal , so he asked me to buy an appraisal from one of the trusted companies . What do you think ? Is he a scam ?

Thanks a lot guys :)

It is probably a scam as that domain is not that great (in my opinion). Ask him to pay for it (like you did) and see where it goes from there

Hello guys
"It's a standard practice to show independent valuation to buyers/resellers.
Nobody will do business without it. I'm a businessman and have no intention
of changing rules which help both parties to avoid additional risks.

Of course, investors never take into account auto-generated valuations. So
manual valuation is a "must" too.

I read the following information about appraisals at:
http://www.domainexplorer.org/Archive/86457803.htm

Without the independent valuation from a trusted source we don't spend a
penny. This is our financial policy. So our offer is just a rought estimate.
If the appraisal comes higher we are ready to offer a bit more. If it comes
lower we will discuss the price with you again.

Thank you for understanding. I'm looking forward to do business with you.

Hope we can come to an agreement fast because I'll be on vacation soon. "

This is the message he sent to me after telling him to pay for the appraisal

Yes, had the same thing a long time ago. He offered a good price, but said he only wanted a reputed domain appraisal.

He told him he's welcome to do that. Never heard anything again.

He says we and our a lot. Tell him to leave on vacation and leave it in the hands of one of his other businessmen. Could also tell them to take the fee out of the selling price. Either way, you're being screwed

Its called social engineering. Its the rooftop of hacking, social hacking.

They can make you believe you eat shit for breakfast every day.

if someone would have paid me that i would have asked him to make me a ticket to his country and meet personally and i would have transferred the domain to him............LOLZ>....+ i would have taken the ticket from return from him LOLZZZ
