Need Help With Backordering Domains

I havent backordered a domain before, so I'm very new to this.

Basically I have found a domain I like but the previous owner hasnt renewed it. I want to get it as soon as it drops.

Just wondering if backordering a domain will guarantee I will be able to acquire a domain name as soon as it becomes available. Also, can anyone recommend a cheap and reliable backordering service?
