if i delete posts will my seo decrease?

hello,

i get 500 unique visitors from google

i have 150.000 posts, some like 1 year old.

now my sql is very huge and i want to delete all posts older then 3 months

this because i get only traffic for posts of 1 month old

so why keeping old posts,

i have 44.700 urls indexed in google. if i delete 80.000 oldest posts, will my traffic decrease? i only get traffic to newest posts and not to those 80.000 old posts

It will decrease if you're getting traffic from those threads, but if you don't. Nothing will happen.

Your traffic might reduce a bit. What would probably be better is to delete all posts older than three months with less than 5 views. That way your not removing any topics which are getting views from Google.

If the topics have few views and older than 1 year than you can probably know that its useless as you aren't getting any visitor on it from SERP.

i agree. but you should not worry about 500 visits... that's nothing... you can't do anything with that. :S

As you said that you dont get any hits from google for those old posts.
you can delete them

I wouldn't recommend you to delete them, instead of pruning your database try optimize it to be faster and do some kinda of SEO work (social media..) in your old posts it will boost your traffic.

Well, problem is that users don't go only on pages they land...why do you think they wouldn't go on older pages?
