Besides, just by looking at their website alone should be enough for anyone to stay away from it.

Thank for the people informing us about your flame posts about our hosting and that your posts has nothing to do with reality.
Let's answer you kind who told you exactly that if someone would purchase from us for image hosting website we would give him shared hosting plan? Υou self edited this from your brain or just wrote about to write something not makes sense?
Besides that question we make to you, you choose hosting which will have extra and much graphics images and much more of that and you will automatically make this hosting with this much graphics image template the best ? Well we are in a good situation to tell you that we have hundred of clients on our company and everyday more & more from the whole earth, before writing about someone to stay away from us due to the template of website make a search for feedbacks we get everyday.
Also we would kindly ask you not write anymore because you not know what you writing and it seems you are off topic and confuse yourself only. Next time when you want to write something please think well before posting.
*Also next time think very well too about writing something for our company or any of our clients, and not write such a bad / flame things which not have nothing to do with real, if it is very hard to make you think and yourself got tired & confused just close the computer, we won't tolerate and leave unanswered such a flame and non sense posts.

There are many hosting providers offering various hosting plans. You will have to do some research and choose the appropriate company that suites your requirement. Do check the customer feedback before going ahead with a company.

I usually like to focus on the bigger picture.
For this image server, how will images be loaded to it? Will a dynamic web site also need to run from the same system.
For an image only solution, I like using VPS systems with Nginx. I have some cloud instances at SoftLayer that I have setup with Nginx. They can easily push 500Mbits/sec with 1GB of RAM and 1 vCPU.
If you have a lower traffic site, then consider adding a CDN like MaxCDN. You can setup origin pull at the CDN. This will fetch the files from your main web server. This eliminates the need for a dedicated web server for images and often can be less expensive.
The CDN will also give you good performance.
Lastly, I also use Amazon's S3 with a CDN provider for very high volume sites. Works well for low volume sites too but can be a bit difficult to integrate. The nice thing about S3 is it is basically pay-as-go storage. You can serve files directly from S3 if you want but performance will not be as robust as a CDN.
