Hello, I want to create a new comunity gaming site, and now I stay thinking what is the best CMS for it.

Vbulletin is more good, but it cost more.

Social Engine likes good, but haven't got more plugins.

What's your opinion about it?

u can download datalifeengine(dle) from here www.dle-en.com u have to register to download..its better than wordpress and u can get gaming site template also everything is explained in detail so choice is urs.installation is same as installing vbulletin create database first and then run www.ursite.com/install.php follow the instructions u r done with it ;)

For flexibility I would recommend Drupal.

Takes some getting used to if your not familiar with the platform but the modules seem to cater for any sites needs

wordpress with buddypress plugin...

it's also compatible with phpBB

i didnt read any update on joompla/drupal, but i remember joomla was compatible with smf forum

IMO, DataLife Engine, WordPress and Joomla ain't good at all as community (though they're perfect as blog).

I'd advise you to go with VB, phpBB or IPB if you're willing to build up a community.

You can install Joomla with Community builder component , and this component have many avaialable plugins , and there are some cool games related joomla templates around .

check boygj (google this name to go to the site) for joomla templates :)

But as some said, forums are build for communities , so i think it might be better for you .
Good luck
