The ww1 or ww2 is just a prefix for a domain name, you can use CNAME records to point a domain to ww1 ww2 etc...
Hope this helps.

Making the website url like ww1 or ww2 is technique used to balance the load of the website. It is Load balancing on the DNS level,
Also known as Round Robin DNS.
ww1 & ww2 are essentially the sub-domains. for eg: ww1 can be used to route the US & Canada Traffic. ww2 can be used to route the Europe Traffic. ww3 can be used to route the Asian traffic etc.

Regards,
Akamai.

ww1. and ww2. are subdomains, thus you need to point them to a correct A-type record in your domain's DNS setup panel.

It may look as "ww1.yourdomain.com A 0.0.0.0" (where 0.0.0.0 is your server's assigned IP address) OR "ww1 CNAME @" (if you want to make it canonical). Beware of DNS entry syntax errors though, it may differ from one DNS provider to another, so you'd better read through the knowledgebase section of your provider before you make any new entries.

BTW, what is the purpose of adding these two subdomains to your hosting setup?
