Yup, it has become am inevitable part of our lives. I've been trying to avoid using it at all costs, but still end up using it in one way or the other. Thanks to the latest technologies that provides instant access to internet wherever you are.

My question is, can you really live without the internet in this modern era? If you do, would you feel alienated?

Or is it just about our self control that needs to be worked upon?

I don't think so. i work remotely, through internet. Furthermore I use it for everything, calling friends (through skype or whatsapp), chat with friends or just do 90% of my things.

I would feel lost without it. We'd be back to the days when you had to watch the news at certain times of the day or read a newspaper. I've got used to having information at my fingertips and I would hate to lose the internet even for a day.

This is a debate, I'd like to see elaborate answers instead of one-liners. I know its tough to live without the internet, its not a yes/no poll, its a discussion :)
Yes I can, because of the "sumo-ic" benefits. I hear that many people who are ahead of the pack today want to live without the internet to go even further ahead. That is because they see the internet as a distraction, information overload and a source of many mental illnesses. Who would want that? Where is a place without information overload? They would be Schools,Colleges,Universities, etc because they provide the "non-obesing" plethora of information to the individuals without all that cancerous jargon!

I can live without the internet because it is not like oxygen. If it was, what would happen to those people living in the jungles and jails of this modern age?

Last but not the least, I can say yes I and everyone else can based upon historic evidence which reveals us how great inventors and leaders before the debut of internet lived without them and became what they are without them.

To be honest, it's absolutely impossible for me to live without the internet in this era of technology. My everyday life is totally dependent on Facebook that can't run without an internet connection.

I don't think I could. I use the internet for work and my kids are homeschooled but we use a LOT of online resources and class tracking programs every day.

No. I think im not able to do this.

The reason is simple. I grew up with the Internet and Computer and this is my world and hobby.
I like it and i cant do it without anymore.
