As I said in the title, I'm confusing if nofollow backlinks are helping to improve my website position on SERP or not?
I mean, google bot will not follow the link if it was place with a nofollow meta-script. But does that mean those links will not help at all?

Do follow links helps to boost the ranking in SERP. No-follow links Don't help in ranking perspective. It doesn’t mean that it will not help at all in SEO. It contributes to improving the traffic of the website. Traffic from the high authority sites like Facebook, Twitter (Which are no follow links) helps to improve the visibility of the websites.

No-follow links won't help you in ranking on search engines. But there are some help which you can get through no-follow links and those are :

1. You can get traffic and more expousure
2. You can improve your website DA

Hope it helps :)

It won't help you to improve your site ranking but yes it'll help you to increase your website's DA and PA as well as you can generate traffic using a no-follow link as well.

Recently Google has said that they will still count the nofollow link as an outgoing link in terms of the distribution of page rank from your page. Though again it also depends on where that nofollow link is placed. Placing a nofollow link at the bottom of the page has the least impact, and when placed at the top of the page, it carries some impact.

Do follow backlinks won't help you to improve your ranking in SERP but it can help you to bring traffic towards your website and it helps you to increase your DA as you're getting links from other high DA websites. Hope it helps :)

Nofollow backlinks if you know already can help for getting traffic and link juice it might not pass page rank but there is also an other aspect to it that nofollow backlinks are also important just as dofollow but we should maintain balance between these two types of backlinks for getting good serp position.

"No follow" backlinks can help in the long run by helping to create more organic traffic to your website but I agree with sachingupta that there needs to be balance between "no follow" and "do follow" backlinks

As per me, nofollow links wont pass link juice, but should be used to create links as nofollow and dofollow links both are important and there should be a ratio that needs to be maintained...

Nofollow links are necessary for your seo works to make it look more natural. So don't only pick dofollows, make a %40-%60 %50-%50 %60-40 balance for nofollow-dofollow links if you don't want your site to get hurt in long term.

The true value of no-follow links sometimes to heated debates among marketers. Since no-follow links don’t boost your PR and don’t help your page’s SERP placement, it’s easy to see why so many people don’t value them too much.

However, just because no-follow links don’t provide SEO value, doesn’t mean they are completely useless. For instance, a well-placed, no-follow comment can actually bring a ton of traffic to your website, which in turn can funnel down to conversions.

Definitely, it helps to drive more traffic as well as makes your website look genuine in the eyes of search engine cause it maintains balance with dofollow links.
