It depends, search engines robots are verifying websites constantly. If you added the SEO techniques, like meta keywords, accessibility, responsible layouts, https and so on, you will soon see the difference when searching for your website.
It really depends on your website content.

Personally I think you cannot put a time on SEO as it is a constant necessity for your site and is ever changing. You will need to visit your sites SEO fairly often from time to time. YetiShare is number 1 for most of the keywords within our niche, but it took us a while to get to that point and alot of work. I would recommend staying away blackhat techniques such as paying for backlinks and concentrate on decent content and other aspects of your site. Our most recent site (reservo.co) climbed to the first page of Google in a few months and is still climbing mainly due to the content of the site and backlinks from our existing sites, mfscripts, yetishare, etc.

You will not get a instant result in seo, it take lot of time. If your website's content is good and unique, meta keywords and title tags are used properly with accurate character limit not more than that. Then search engines easily optimize your website in a short time.

Some companies will tell you, it takes 4 to 6 months to start getting results in search engines where as some will tell to wait for one year or some more time. But, it really depends on the SEO strategies and contents of the website. Make sure you have a proper planning about what to do in 1st month, 2nd month and so on..

It depends on your technique of SEO, but normally it takes about 4-6 months of hard working to gain top locations on GG search result

Website optimization is never ending task. You need to follow up with on page first and then work continuous on on page optimization to rank keywords and then maintain the ranking in search results. If you stop optimizing your website then your competitors will rank higher and your website will move down.
