.org domain, overused template, whois protected domain... to be honest I wouldn't touch them with a ten-foot pole if I were you.

There are many more legit providers you could consider ordering from.

I am not sure i get what the big deal is with them using a .org or an overused template. I wouldn't count someone out based on those factors. As far as whoisprotection...I can't speak on that. From checking their twitter, looks like they have been around since 2011 and pretty active.

As far as more legit providers...if you are in need of offshore for nulled, warez or other illegal things then no...there are not "many legit providers", especially not here on WJ. there are about 4 i can think of total that i have experience with or know are decent from a few friends i made here on WJ.

if you aren't doing anything illegal then yes of course there are many legit providers.

There is nothing wrong with .org domain names, they have in-fact been truncated from the word organisation; and since SoloHost is an organisation it is ideal to use this gTLD.

The template is certainly not bespoke, as a small webhosting company having our own custom made website would be pretty costly; in nature when the time is right than a custom design will be published. A lot of work had gone into trying to make our template efficient enough to use, we had made changes to try and be unique.

Regarding the Who.is Anonymity, this had been removed amid over concerns. It was added in the first place to prevent spamming; our address was always made public in our billing system and also our website at the "Contact" page.

Perhaps the reason you disapprove of us is probably because you run a webhost of your own, and are trying to eliminate any competition that may be a threat to your company - perfectly understood.

You haven't tried our service, so don't be stereotypical. I mean, we offer a trial service to answer any concerns. Never judge a book by its cover.

Edit: It's funny how your company can be using the Who.is protection service, whilst you discrimnate that of SoloHost's.

if sharing is legal, then yes. lol I need a better host than mine that currently use for my blog!

Oh yes sharing others copyright protected works is legal every where.

It is not stealing or breaking any laws.

You should register your domain with GoDaddy and host with any provider in the US.

Unbelievable!

@SoloHost: The person that made the comment you quoted will never have to worry about competition from you. You are a extremely small fish in a sea of providers. Your arrogance in your rebuttal is enough to keep me or any other experienced user from doing business with you.

@WDF: You should know that small fish in the sea can grow pretty big, regardless anyone can become competition whether they be big or small. I wasn't being and/or trying to be arrogant at all, just making a fair point across and there is nothing wrong with that; an example of arrogance would be the post that I had replied to.

I do not wish to start an argument, please be civilised in this forum. Sincere apologise if any feelings may have been hurt, this was certainly not deliberate.

To be perfectly honest with you, I don't think anyone would have to worry about a non-profit organization(.org).

I have been a WJ member since 2009, we all saw a lot of failed / scamming hosts so far. Guess what? Half of them were less than 1 year old, ripped template, whois protect.

Don't get me wrong. Getting into this industry is extremely easy nowadays. Most of people fail in the first year due to lack of experience, money, knowledge, though... having .org domain and a ripped template surely don't look good - you will lose 80% customers in the start. If you can't afford a few 100eur for a proper design, there is no reason to get into this industry. Your business website is what represents you on the internet, it sells the product in the end of day. Ripped templates look cheap and give an impression you use cheap budget stuff to run the business on. It can't be any good. I run a massive hosting company and I know what I'm talking about. Hopefully, this will help you to improve. Ether way, I wish you best of luck.

@Krun!x: Thank you for the advice, we will take this on-board and also wish you the best of luck! Thankfully we have been running for more than 2 years now, and can assure you that it isn't a ripped template - there has been investments made into our dedicated server, so the equipment isn't cheap at all either.

@SoloHost, Man you should change the template, the one you use can be found all over the net and many other hosts using same template.

@Krun!x, Most of the WJ hosts failed because of DDOS, Bankrupt, Null route by DC etc.

Friends i beg you to please think before using solohost.org. I have myself personally have been taken by this "Host". They will be more then happy to take your payment and then deny you service. Support takes days and the servers are dog slow.

Buyer Beware !!
