Question: Do you think a couple hundred years from now the human body, science, and robotics will eventually be one ?

Do you think it is possible for humans to be immortal ? Or do you think nothing last forever, every must face death ?

These questions are on my mind daily,... I am fascinated with the idea of science, religion, and technology. I know in my "time" if it is possible to merge the body with these elements, I will not be as fortunate as the upcoming generations who will consume this planet we call earth.

I sometimes browse the internet for claims of near death experience and find for the most part....

  1. Out of body experiences - Hovering over ones self.
  2. Seeing a bright light.
  3. Void, total darkness.
  4. A form of consciousnesses.
  5. Euphoria, complete peace, love, and joy.
  6. Some claim to experience grayness, abandonment. Thought to be "Hell".

Shows I enjoying watching that are worth anyone's time and interest:

Through the Wormhole : Science Channel

This is the book but there is a show on Stephen Hawking's God Theory.

I find it astonishing whether or not there is a grand master designer that gave us life, or whether "The Big Bang" is accurate... It is humbling how divine we came to be as humans in general.

The Universe is so large we are equivalent to a grain of sand on a beach.

Do you think we already live in "Eternity" ? Since the Universe is infinite ?
And do you think our species will ever reach immortality ?

Michio Kaku says in the next 50 years we will be able to live for eternity.

Our lifespan is gradually increasing, but currently it's at a very slow pace. If this pace would be to increase at a faster pace than we age, maybe so. But at the current pace, we are all destined to die.

our lifespan increasing?? lol our lifespan IS decreasing :D
we are living in such cancerous environment with that smokes in the air, polluted waters, junk foods, hell even the sun gives you cancer. there is no way our lifespan would be improving.

Well my family used to live to be 40-60 years, now we've surpassed that age. Currently at 85. I agree with you however. Even though a lot of us are living longer than our ancestors, there are an increasing amount of people with cancer, which we need to fix :)

The world barely has enough resources to sustain the current growth rate of population. Last thing we need is a way to survive for eternity. One way or the other we will die.

Theirs a gene family called Bcl 2 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bcl-2_family) which controls the way human body degrades , unless someone can find out how to stop that and since its the human body itself that is killing itself , it would be extremely hard to make humans immortal .....the lifespan of humans may increase ,but if humans were to be immortal, it is only going to add towards man kind trying to end itself , which is ironical ...

abraham was 175 years old when he died (at least according to the bible).

i think body is just a vessel, it's the memory that really counts
we might have technology someday that will preserve these memories
