To get started, I've been around for years and most hosting sites just disappear...

If there's anything I learned from all those years is that cheap and reliable don't come together at all, this is why almost none (no offense to anybody) of the hosting services advertised here look good to me, although sites like WRZHost have been around for quite a while, if I were to make serious warez websites I wouldn't let me success hang on them. (again no offense).

The reason is that, I am not questioning their reliability, honesty, knowledge or professionalism, actually I know from my time around that they're quite nice people, but my question is, who is hosting the big websites that have been around for ages?

Sites like Katz.cd / Infinitewarez.com / DDLSpot.com / DDL2.com etc...

Who hosts them? They seem to be always online...

I'd take any hosting site mentioned here on price alone, but I suffered enough in my time I guess, can't take any more if I am to get back with serious intent.

Cheers all, any idea?

If you've been with hosts who disappear, you have been choosing the wrong hosts for a very long time.

Yes you are correct if you start a site and it gets HUGE, of course shared hosting is not for you. You would need a VPS or Dedi.

Sites like the ones you mentioned are on dedicated servers, not shared hosting.

If you search the shared hosting forum, you will soon see who are the better hosts, and who you should totally stay away from.

before hosting with anyone do some research :)

I've done some search mate, I didn't find it very useful, people usually say thanks etc.. and not a lot of useful feedback. I know there are many good solutions here, but a thread with 300 post 150 of them are from the host owner, 40 people asking questions and in the end 1 or 2 useful posts, I think there should be a more organized way here to figure out the good and the bad of every host.

Cheers.

Yeah that's true, but I did not mean "read the thread". Nor did I mean do your research here, to be honest this isn't the best place to do "research" on hosts.

google the host. find out how long they have been around. If they have been around for atleast 1 year, they should be decent.
Anything under 1 year, I wouldn't recommend as 90% of all hosts (atleast on this forum) who post go down within the first months.

Also, look at the plans. If someone offers 200GB Space & 2TB Bandwidth for 1.99, that host won't last long.

Who were you hosting with previously that went down?

I really don't remember, last thing I remember exmasters.com were the best ever until they decided to shut me off with no backups due to "a very bad complaint".

I recommend them, if you are ready to put up with broken English auto translated by a robot from an Asian language, but they're pussies, one complaint and they panic.

So if you're not into warez, exmasters.com is the way to go for me.

Haha yeah. I know the feeling.
I went through hundreds of hosts before I opened mine up in 2007.
I was sick of either, a bunch of down time, slow sites, and no response from host for days.
Or a support staff who either you didn't understand, or wouldn't respond for days when it was urgent, or wouldn't help you with anything.
So I decided to do something about it, and been hosting ever since :)

I can personally vouch for Sandin0. My365host, while not being the fastest offshore host I have used (a semi-dedicated I bought once from WRZhost was faster, but their support is god awful), are definitely the most reliable, friendliest and most consistently available of any host (offshore or onshore) that I have used.

I ask Sandin0 stupid questions that have nothing to do with him, just websites in general and he always answers to the best of his ability, and right away. Like for example I was having trouble installing VB4 and he helped me out with that, which he has absolutely no obligation to do. I also asked him to import an SQL DB for me that was over 100mb and he did it in a matter of 2 minutes or so.

I got their 7gb/300gb plan and it was pretty much dirt cheap and is doing the job damn well for my warez forum

FYI: http://downloadboss.com is hosted with them, so if you want to check out the speed you can. Keep in mind I'm running VB 4 and my database is pretty sizeable, so I think the load times are pretty damn good.

All in all, I'm more than happy with the services they have provided me so far and I hope to keep my site with them for as long as shared hosting can sustain my site.

That being said, I wish they would offer VPSes or something higher than shared hosting because I would love to keep my business with them when my site outgrows shared hosting. Sandin0 what are the plans regarding that, if you don't mind me asking?

Long post, I know, but if you only read this sentence: my365host rocks. [FONT=&quot] The end.

Sandin0 gives good advise. I'd PM him and talk to him on MSN (if he has time). He know's all of the hosts here and doesn't try to push a sale on you but will refer you to another client if it's the best for your situation (from my experience and he hasn't tried to push a sale yet in this thread). Everyone's else's is just going to flame and advertise their own host.

Yeah I forgot to mention that Sandin0 is the most professional person I've dealt with in hosting warez sites. In my experience, professionalism is mostly a joke as the majority of hosts are kids who flame and act like idiots, fighting over totally inconsequential things that just end up making themselves look bad.

Cheers for the replies, but I am not sure I can trust shared hosting again, the minimum I am looking at is a decent VPS. Wish they offered that.

Well I never suggest Sandin0's company or hosting. I mearly suggested you talk to him on MSN if he's has the time. You never mentioned your requirements or bandwidth and that's why I suggested him.
He'll talk you through your requirements and advise you on what your need. I never said he's try and convert you to a sale. Seriously he'll suggest other hosts where their more suitable. That's why people recommend him.
He's just an knowledgeable and educated guy who know's what he's talking about that has time to explain the noob points to people that regular companies get tired and bored of explaining and in many cases don'e even know themselves.

Thank you guys for your kind words. I'm glad my company is doing things right =]

And yes, he was not recommending me, he was just saying I could help since I do not have a biased opinion. I wouldn't force my hosting on someone, if someone else can provide better service for me, or something reliable that is good for you, I would recommend you to them (unlike a majority of hosts here). As i will say below:

@ Paul, I am sorry you feel that Shared Hosting is not right for you anymore. Kind of a shame people start thinking that because of bad experiences, but I know what you mean.

If you want a really good reliable host, I recommend OpenVServers.com
The owner (Ricardo) is a very good friend of mine, and provides as good if not better service than my company does already. (as you can see by the posts above and all around Wjunction).

If you are interested in a VPS, rather than shared hosting, I would recommend to email them since their website is not complete yet: Sales[AT]OpenVServers.biz

I wish you luck with your websites, and I assure you, you will not be disappointed with them :)
