I wanna build a new wordpress site.

What plugins do you recommend me to install?
How do i make my wp site Search Engine Optimized?
How do i prevent my wp site from being hacked (if it can be)?

WP Super Cache
All In One SEO Pack
Google XML Sitemap

And in the Settings>Permalinks
Pick Custom and put this /%postname%/ for SEO links

platinum seo pack
google analyticator
wp-optimize
wp-db-manager

leave the final backslash in bx's format out for even better seo.

/%postname%

should i add the domain name before it?
eg. http://domain.org/%postname%/

Use pie-register plugin so that users can register and post articles.. you may also want to try the following..

Google XML Sitemaps
SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam
WP-PageNavi
WP-PostViews
WP Auto Tagger
WP Super Cache
WP to Twitter
Login LockDown
Yet Another Related Posts Plugin

and Login LockDown will come in use to protect your Admin login panel. As for SEO, Google XML Sitemaps and the All in One SEO Pack should come in help with SEO.

Also note, too many plugins will increase the load of your site, and don't forget the cache plugin as it plays a main role to reduce stress on your database requests
