Well, if you don't own the rights to the video, then yes it is a violation of copyrights and therefore (technically) a crime.
They punish you by chopping your balls off; figuratively, because they'll hit you with enough fines and prison sentences that when you're done, you won't have the will to reproduce.
But hey, I mean, thousands of people do it. So what difference will one more dude on a forum dedicated to copyright violation make?
