I would like to Discuss a Point on WJ.

"MODS please do move this Thread , if you find this thread Inappropriate here".


I seen Many Hosting Sites Thread Over here On WJ's Section :

Whenever a Hosting Website Got a Good review about his Service , the thread Starter BUMP that post via quoting with thanks , while if got some Bad Review/Problematic thing ...He do report to MOD or Say :
"This is a Sales thread NOT Support thread,if you have have problem please do contact support" & try to strike-a-deal with the client over support so that he do remove BAD comments from WJ [Edit his Post].

Is this Totally Fair ???

Above thing is wrote after Personal Experience.Members please do Discuss on this Point.MODS suggestions are also Welcomed.

I'm not sure what are you trying to say. But sales thread is only for potential customers, and not for current customers.

Every hosting provider can create a feedback thread in the Hosting discussion area, where his current customers can talk about uptime, current plans and such.
 
My Point is :-
Hosting Sites just use WJ Forum Only as advertising Platform with Good review.
If any Existing Client DARE to tell truth [bad review] they do directly run towards MOD or do a strike deal for removing Bad comment .

I would like to suggest all Hosting website Owners & MODS that , if you do allow Good reviews in your sales thread then why dont you allow bad reviews ??


 
Read my post again, and you'll notice that sales thread isn't for customers, it's for potential customers. Web hosting providers have every right to ask for removal of all offtopic posts, whether it's a review or spam.
 
A suggestion could be that no reviews at all either good/bad should be allowed
and that every hosting provider should make a second thread "Support" if they want
to continue providing a service here on WJunction, as it's kinda unfair that only
good reviews are allowed and if they get a bad review they run to a moderator,
therefore prohibit all reviews in sales thread and force providers to create a support
thread were reviews & support is given.

And link both threads at the bottom of the post so that customers know where to ask for support,
now some hosting providers might argue they have a support system but sometimes some hosting
providers don't do anything about problems until a user complains here on WJ then they get their
ass into gear and do something about it.

(This is just my suggestion)

If it is a sales thread, then no feedback is supposed to be allowed there. Sales questions and existing user's queries ain't the same thing. The only way we get to see a host's bad sides is when a user opens a thread here and whines about refund or so.

Try to make the sales and reviews separate, and maybe some sorta support like, ticket checking queries shud be allowed in the sales thread.

Just a vague idea of what I think, the staff should know more about it and also the existing more experienced host companies
 
Well i think all the current things are good, the only things must be taken action is mods most ignore such reports from hosters saying "its just host thread or blabla..." They honest reviews must be present always. :)

I also want CONVEY same Message.....Some WebHosting Sites do start there threads with Good Reviews .......What the HELL is REVIEWS doing in there Sales thread ??. (y) Agree, We need honest reviews on WJ , though they are good or bad :)
 
its VERY VERY simple, webhost opens thread and reports all 'bad reviews' as hm offtopic or so, so FRESH GUY comes to thread, looks: "hmmm they are ok, good reviews, no complains, i need to transfer my site here!" and BAM: Aquickhost :facepalm: that's just example, but reviews are very important for future customers (no one wants to be cheated, right?)
it is their business to take care of customers and report button isnt correct way to do it :))
downtime reports are very important (not for potential webhost :)) ) , why op comes and says 'sorry no support here, don't post' huh?

Yep I agree we should allow good or bad reviews in the threads... I have gone through five hosts from here in the last month or two... currently still with two and only one of my sites is up right now... Also one of the hosts run off owing me around 1.5 months hosting and also $8 or another 3 months hosting..
 
Well dude, i understand what you mean to say

They only allow good reviews so that they can attract other new customers

For complaints and other review, there is already a section where one can post the review "Hosting Discussions"

It's a great Idea actually.
If I want to buy hosting, first thing I'll do is head over to the Host's thread.
That way I can easily know a host's reputation.
It's actually very informative.

Sometimes when I visit a thread in the Hosting area, all I see is replies like
Cust: I have prob
Host: Submit a Ticket
Cust: Submitted a ticket
Host: Replied to ticket
Cust: Still have prob.
Host: Submit a ticket
Cust: Submitted ticket since 10 hours. No Reply.
Host: Replied to ticket.
 
Yes, I think the mods and admin of WJ should look at this matter.
The mod shouldn't remove both good and bad reviews even if they are on the sales thread , cause when someone needs to choose one of the current hosts on WJ he'll go directly to sales thread to check their problems, downtimes, how they deal with their costumers, etc...
Although, I think that (50% or more of good reviews aren't true - PAID) and (95% or more of bad reviews are true) because the normal people mostly write only bad reviews (when they have problems).....
 
I would like to suggest MODS/ADMINS to make some New rules regarding reviews :-
NO Review/Support/Love/hatred type Posts should be Posted over sales thread. Hosting Discussion Section is already there for it.
<EDIT> button should be removed from "Hosting Discussion" section i order to find real Reviews [many Webhosting Site Owners do lure/bribe for removing BAD reviews]

Also Useless Bumping By Thread Poster in Sales thread should be Handled Strictly.Existing Sales Threads should be Locked until Web-hosters dont remove good reviews from there threads.

By above rules Hosting rules, WJ's Hosting Section grade will surely rise as Cheaters,liers,Scammers will not able to survive any more via OLD reviews/paid reviews.

Hope Admins/MODS will do have & apply these rules on WJ.
