Exclamation Compromised Accounts

Hey,

Lately, we've had many accounts compromised. We're not exactly sure how unauthorised user(s) are gaining access to the accounts but we believe it maybe a program which was posted on WJunction, or you may have used the same password elsewhere etc.

We would advise everyone to change their password immediately and NOT use the same password for other forums.

If your account has been compromised please contact our account specialist team by emailing accounts[at]wjunction.com

Thank you.
WJ Staff

Hello,
Since this thread is open, I'd like to give some advises to WJ members.
  1. Your computer:
    • Always use an anti-virus and a good firewall.
    • Keep your OS/Browser/Anti-virus/Firewall updated.
    • Don't save your passwords in txt files neither use browser to save them.
    • Don't download every program/game from sites/posters you don't know.
    • Use google before allowing a program trough your firewall that you don't know (even if you think its related to another program/system)
  2. Your websites:
    • Your security depends of your sites security. Keep software/scripts updated.
  3. Other websites:
    • Do not re-use your password in multiple sites. It will be easier for someone to compromise your accounts.

Regards,
NewEraCracker

If your account has been hacked you can contact us at accounts[at]wjunction.com.

Please provide as much information as you can.

The following must be provided when emailing us;
- Username
- Email address used
- IP addresses (your last IP / current IP address)

Please take extra measures so you don't get hacked again.

We made the email address so that you don't have to create dupe accounts. We'll do our best to reply to your email within 48 hours. Additional proof maybe requested if the proof provided isn't sufficient enough.

It's come to our attention that a few sites have recently been hacked unrelated to WJunction.
Sadly many of these sites have users from WJunction and share the same passwords/details.
We would be grateful if you could all change passwords to something more secure and not shared with other sites to protect your accounts.

If you need a quick way to make a new password please visit:
http://wgtools.com/pass-generator/

We recommend you choose a password at least 8 digits in length and that you select all the "Password Options", Please then click the "Generate" button and copy the new password to a secure location.
(I.e a bit of paper a diary or wherever you feel the password will be safe.)

A big thank you to the user who alerted us to this issue.

And a big thank you to you for reading and taking action in securing your account's.
