Exclamation Updated: Rules for offering web hosting (Hosting providers MUST read these)

General Hosting Rules

  • All general forum rules apply
  • You must select [Selling] as the Prefix
  • Post2Host offers are not allowed under any circumstance
  • Only 1 topic from a host is allowed in each category, regardless of the packages offered. Read extension below.
  • Please mention whether warez linking sites are allowed or otherwise
  • A maximum of 5 customer feedback quotes are allowed in the first post of a sales/hosting thread.
  • Free hosting, giveaways or contests ONLY, is allowed. If, however, we deem your free hosting thread to be inappropriate in any way or form, we reserve the right to close it and disallow you to post further free hosting threads. Read extension below
  • Webhosts may not comment in other hosting providers' threads under ANY circumstance whatsoever. Since this revision, this rule will be strictly enforced and any comment of any kind WILL be infracted and/or banned (based on active infractions)
  • Providers may NOT recommend themselves in ANY thread (except their own) THROUGHOUT the forum
  • Future plans, expansions, sale promos, etc will only be allowed within your own hosting thread
  • Threads not receiving exposure may be bumped by staff, on the provider's request. Read extension below
  • All hosting providers must use a valid (not nulled) billing panel, have a legitimate support system (tickets, etc - not just skype or msn or email) and a proper website with TOS.

Title Rules for Web Hosting Threads

Full title MUST be in this format: Sales Pitch (Country)
Example: 1 CPU Core, 512MB RAM, 40GB HDD, 5TB B/W (USA)
Sitename in title: Optional

Generic keywords NOT allowed, as usual:

secure
discount
affordable
cheap
cheapest
50% off (or similar)
99% uptime (or similar)
uptime guarantee
no downtime

no overselling
buy now
promo
crazy
super
performance
lightening
... and all other similar keywords.

Special characters are NOT allowed:
Using special characters to get attention is not allowed: --== ===- /// \\\\ *** ``` ~~~ ^^^ !!! ect

Discounts:
Feel free to offer these in your title and/or your sales thread

Client Management, Billing & Support Solutions:
- Must use a legally licensed version. Nulled solutions are disallowed and are a considerable security risk.
- Must have a support system in place. IM/Skype does NOT count.

Plans:
Your thread MUST include at least 1(ONE) plan details offered by you. You may link to your site for additional plans, but 1(ONE) plan listing is an absolute requirement.

Extensions:

Extension 1 - Only 1 topic per host
This rule will now be strictly enforced. Providers in violation of this rule will have their threads locked, and under extreme cases, infracted/banned.

Regardless of the variety of packages you offer (e.g. Encoding/Non-encoding plans for RDP, Xen/OpenVZ for VPS, managed/unmanaged for dedicated, etc) you are allowed only 1(ONE) thread (per category). You may edit your thread's OP at anytime to add/remove information, plans, discounts, etc.

Promotional threads announcing introduction of new packages, etc are strictly forbidden.

Extension 2 - Free hosting
Hosts may offer free hosting in the form of a general giveaway, a competition, a forum game, etc ONLY. However, this entails certain rules:
  • Free hosting threads of any kind belong in the Contests/Giveaways section ONLY
  • Title rules apply as above, but with certain modifications:
    • Sitename CANNOT be included in the title.
    • Title MUST be PREFIXED with [GIVEAWAY] or [FREE].
  • A staff member will usually review the free hosting thread, and if deemed
inappropriate, may lock it and disallow further free threads from said provider.
  • Hosting accounts of any kind being given away should be, at least, 1 week in term length.
  • Inappropriate includes, but is not limited to giveaways or free offers that:
    • Are intended to benefit the provider at the expense of the customer (enforced contracts)
    • Include excessive mention of the provider's host, and intend to serve as a means of advertising more than as a means of giving away in goodwill
    • Break general forum rules
    • Indirectly incite hate towards a competitor
    • etc

Extension 3 - Thread bumps
We are well aware of the fact that a lot of providers get their business through WJunction. And while we want to maintain a fair system, we also believe in giving everyone a fair chance to gain exposure. If your thread is not getting exposure and has been pushed towards the inner pages, and you feel that a bump and an exposure could generate potential interest in your thread, you may request for it to be bumped.

Before you request a bump, your thread must meet the following criteria:
  • Must not have received any reply to it in over 15 days
  • Must not have any pending problems (billing, technical)
  • Must have been pushed to the inner pages

Thread bumping procedure:
  • DO NOT PM A STAFF MEMBER
  • Report the first post of your thread (i.e. OP) and mention that the report is a thread bump request.

A staff member will then go through your thread, and if deemed appropriate, your thread will be bumped. Remember, thread bumps are a privilege, not a right. You may or may not be given a thread bump; either way, you have absolutely no right to complain about the outcome.

Default

Please remember that the above rules are going to apply RETROSPECTIVELY because they are aimed to cut down some of the spam that is ever-growing, especially in the 'Other' hosting sections.

These rules are also meant to relax the title restrictions.
